The meeting point between residents and tourists, the meeting point between Venetian dishes and Tuscan cuisine, the point where you can find warmth and friendliness. This is the atmosphere you will find in La Tavernetta, a small restaurant close to the famous Hotel Excelsior and the Palazzo del Casino.
A place that has seen the birth of the Venice Film Festival.
In 1996 it was taken over by Riccardo, a Tuscan chef who has been part of the Italian Federation of Chefs for years, and Adriana, a Venetian chef in several hotels and restaurants. Riccardo and Adriana have been able to combine passion and quality and pass them to their son Ottavio, who took over the restaurant after renewal in 2009.
With Ottavio, expert sommelier (best sommelier in Italy in 2014 A.I.S.), La Tavernetta has become even more popular and the care for the cuisine is now combined with the perfect wine pairing. The main goal remains to make customers feel at home.

A wine list with over 270 labels from all over Italy, 15 champagne and 20 foreign references. A careful selection that combines big producers of Italy’s wine history and small wine artisans who have been able to convey passion and love in their products.
The attention to the wine is also evident in the various initiatives proposed by La Tavernetta.
Recently La Tavernetta embraced the project “Portami via” AIS (Italian Sommelier Association), which allows the customer to take home the bottle he or she did not finish at the restaurant with a pretty wine bag. It is a campaign created to reduce the risk of driving under the influence of alcohol and to reduce the waste of wine. Moreover,  La Tavernetta reserves a discount of 10% on the cost of the list for the customers who want to buy a good wine to take away.

La Tavernetta organizes guided wine tasting also in English, French and Spanish and small introductory lessons to allow people to be able to appreciate a good glass of wine properly.
